My children hesitate to eat raw sprouted peas. So, I make salad or chaat which not only increases its nutritional value but also makes it colorful.

Ingredients

  • Sprouted Kala Chana chickpea – 1 cup
  • Oil – 2 tbsp.
  • Ginger grate – 1 tbsp.
  • Garlic grate – 1 tbsp.
  • Capsicum – 2 tbsp.
  • Curry leaves – 1 tbsp.
  • Coriander powder – ½ tbsp.
  • Asafoetida – a pinch
  • Black pepper powder – ¼ tbsp.
  • Jeera/cumin powder – ¼ tbsp.
  • Garam masala powder – ¼ tbsp.
  • Chaat masala – ¼ tbsp.
  • Salt – ¼ tbsp.
  • Red chilli powder – ¼ tbsp.
  • Tomatoes – ½ cup
  • Onions – 1 cup
  • Cabbage – 1 cup
  • Grated carrot – 3 tbsp.
  • Carrot – 2 tbsp.
  • Grated coconut – 1 tbsp.
  • Rock salt – ¼ tbsp.

Instructions

  1. Heat little oil in a pan and add grated ginger, garlic, curry leaves, carrot, cabbage, fresh coconut grate and capsicum pieces.

  2. Add sprouted kala chana (chickpea) and sprinkle coriander powder, red chilli powder, salt and a pinch of asafoetida.
  3. Sprinkle rock salt for taste (optional) and mix all ingredients. Serve sprouted kala chana chaat recipe hot.

1.  In a kadai, heat little oil and add grated ginger, garlic and capsicum.
