Chickpeas are a protein-packed food that can be consumed either sprouted or by making snacks. People often eat sprouted chickpeas before going to the gym to gain muscles. My children hesitate to eat raw sprouted peas. So, I make salad or chaat which not only increases its nutritional value but also makes it colorful.
Usually, children lose their energy by the time they come from their school, so it’s a good idea to supplement their energy by giving them nutrition-packed snacks.

Sprouted Kala Chana Chaat is a healthy and nutritious recipe that can be made in minutes when properly planned.
Ingredients
- Sprouted Kala Chana chickpea – 1 cup
- Oil – 2 tbsp.
- Ginger grate – 1 tbsp.
- Garlic grate – 1 tbsp.
- Capsicum – 2 tbsp.
- Curry leaves – 1 tbsp.
- Coriander powder – ½ tbsp.
- Asafoetida – a pinch
- Black pepper powder – ¼ tbsp.
- Jeera/cumin powder – ¼ tbsp.
- Garam masala powder – ¼ tbsp.
- Chaat masala – ¼ tbsp.
- Salt – ¼ tbsp.
- Red chilli powder – ¼ tbsp.
- Tomatoes – ½ cup
- Onions – 1 cup
- Cabbage – 1 cup
- Grated carrot – 3 tbsp.
- Carrot – 2 tbsp.
- Grated coconut – 1 tbsp.
- Rock salt – ¼ tbsp.
Instructions
Heat little oil in a pan and add grated ginger, garlic, curry leaves, carrot, cabbage, fresh coconut grate and capsicum pieces.
- Add sprouted kala chana (chickpea) and sprinkle coriander powder, red chilli powder, salt and a pinch of asafoetida.
- Sprinkle rock salt for taste (optional) and mix all ingredients. Serve sprouted kala chana chaat recipe hot.

How to make sprouted kala chana chaat recipe:
1. In a kadai, heat little oil and add grated ginger, garlic and capsicum.
2. Add curry leaves, sprouted kala chana, coriander powder and a pinch of asafoetida.
3. Sprinkle salt, red chili powder and mix. Add minced tomatoes and onions.
4. Put cabbage, grated carrot, fresh coconut grate and Mix all ingredients.
5. Sprinkle rock salt for taste and serve sprouted kala chana chaat recipe hot.
