We can make this recipe by just mixing roasted groundnuts, salt and red chilli powder as minimal ingredients but adding other spices will give it additional flavour. Most of the time it is used along with idli, dosa, upma and other breakfast recipes.

Dry red chillies will give spice and groundnuts lower it. When we add a spoon of ghee to this combination and served it with steamed rice you will love it. Children like to eat it as a munching powder along with curd rice.

Tips to make a perfect groundnut chutney powder recipe:

  • We can dry roast or add 1-2 tbsp. oil while roasting groundnuts.
  • Always roast them on low to medium flame till they turn crisp.
  • Adjust the quantity of dry red chillies and garlic cloves as per your taste.
  • Crystal salt gives a good taste rather than iodised salt.
  • While grinding groundnuts, run the grinder for 20-30 seconds and give a gap to get the perfect groundnut powder. Else oil may ooze out and may form lumps.

Ingredients

  • Peanuts – 1 bowl
  • Oil – 2 tbsp.
  • Coriander seeds – 2 tbsp.
  • Dry red chillies – 12-15 No.
  • Curry leaves – 2 tbsp.
  • Cumin seeds – 2 tbsp.
  • Garlic cloves – 18-20 No.
  • Crystal Salt – 2 tbsp.

Instructions

  1. Roast peanuts on low flame for 2-5 minutes by adding 2 tbsp. oil in a pan. Transfer to another plate and keep aside to cool.
  2. With leftover traces of oil, roast coriander seeds, curry leaves, dry red chillies, garlic cloves and cumin seeds.
  3. Off the flame and roast for a second as the pan is already hot.
  4. Once cooled, put spices in a mixer grinder and add crystal salt. Grind to a powder.
  5. In the second round add peanuts and grind to soft powder making sure it doesn’t form a lump or oil oozes out.
  6. Mix both powders to form a peanut chutney powder recipe.

1.  Heat 2 tbsp. oil in a pan and put peanuts. Roast on low flame for 2-5 minutes.
