Ingredients
- Moong Dal – 1 bowl
- Salt – 1 ¼ tbsp.
- Rock salt – ¼ tbsp.
- Water – to soak
Instructions
- Put moong dal and add required water to soak. Add little salt and mix.
- Soak for 2-4 hours so that dal soaks well and turn soft.
- Drain soaked water and put dal over a clean and white cloth.
- Spread dal over the cloth and let them dry. Dried dal usually don’t absorb more oil while deep fry.
- Add oil in a pan and heat. Once you feel smoke over oil, put steel net ladle in oil to deep fry.
- Take small portion of dal and put them in oil, if you feel boiling will make oil overflow from pan, raise ladle.
- It takes time to fry but wait and deep fry on medium flame till they turn golden brown colour.
- Once moon dal is ready once can hear crackling sound when we shake ladle to remove excess oil.
- If you are using air fryer you may see less oil, but deep fried crisps have oil so transfer dal over kitchen towel.

How to make Moong Dal Namkeen Recipe:
1. Add moong dal in a mixing bowl, add required water and put salt. Mix and soak for 2 hrs.
2. Drain soaked water and put moong dal over a clean white cloth and dry under the fan.
3. Heat oil in a pan and once it reaches optimum temperature, place steel net ladle in oil and put 1 large spoon of moong dal.
4. When dal is perfectly deep-fried, they will give a crackling sound when we shake the net and drain oil.
5. Transfer crispy moong dal fry over a kitchen towel and press dal so that towel absorbs excess oil.
6. Sprinkle little normal salt and rock salt and mix well. Store moong dal namkeen recipe in an airtight container and serve them once cooled as a tea-time snack.
