Usually, recipes like vada or idli need to be prepared one day before, but sooji rava recipe needs no worries of grinding and hours of fermentation. We can make this recipe with fewer ingredients that are available in our kitchen.
Rava vada is made with suji rava, curd, onions and a few spices. As it’s made with rava one can sense its crisp texture and can be served with sambar or with coconut chutney. To give extra flavor we have added ginger garlic paste, if you want we can skip it.

Ingredients
- Suji Rava – 1 bowl
- Curd – ½ bowl
- Water – 100 ml.
- Oil to deep fry
- Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp.
- Onions – 1 cup
- Green chillies – 1 tbsp.
- Ginger garlic paste – ¼ tbsp.
- Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp.
- Eating soda – a pinch
- Rice flour – 1 tbsp.
- Salt – ½ tbsp.
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, add suji rava and curd. Mix well to get medium to thick consistency.
If there is water (liquid) in curd use it along with curd as its sourness helps in binding rava.
When mixing rava dough if you feel its tight then add little water to get required consistency and marinate for an hour.
Add ginger garlic paste, cumin seeds, onions, coriander leaves, green chillies, rice flour (helps in getting crisp texture), eating soda (used to give puffy texture) and salt.
Mix all ingredients, if you feel consistency is hard add little water or else go ahead with same consistency.
Heat oil in a pan and put small portion of batter to check oil temperature. If batter floats immediately then oil is ready to deep fry.
Take small portion of batter and pierce a hole in between vada and gently place them in oil.
When one side changes its colour, flip vada by turning to other side at medium to high flame till they turn golden brown colour.
Using a slotted spoon remove Instant Rava Vada Recipe from oil and transfer to serving plate.

How to make Instant Rava Vada Recipe:
1. Add suji rava and curd in a mixing bowl. Pour a little water to maintain a thick consistency.
2. Marinate batter for an hour to give mild sourness and improve binding capacity.
3. Add adequate oil to deep fry in a pan. Keep the flame at low to medium.
4. Meanwhile let’s add cumin seeds, onions, green chillies and ginger-garlic paste.
5. Add coriander leaves, eating soda, rice flour and salt.
6. If needed add a little more water so that batter becomes the perfect consistency to make vada.
7. Put a small portion of batter in oil and check the temperature of the oil. If it floats then the oil is ready or else adjusts the flame.
8. Wet your hands and take a small portion of the batter and make a disc shape and when releasing in oil make a hole in between and gently put in oil.
9. Once the color of the vada changes flip to the other side and deep fry till they turn a golden brown color.
10. Remove from oil and drain excess oil. Transfer the Instant Rava Vada Recipe to the plate and serve hot.
