- We can make this recipe either by adding curd or without by putting a little milk and a few drops of lemon extract so that the milk curdles.
- If you want additional flavor or essence we can add coffee powder along with the cocoa powder.
- People who don’t want to use maida can use whole wheat flour. When we add wheat flour, the cake will be less puffy.
- We can either put salt or sand to preheat the baking vessel. If you are making large size cake, use a large vessel, or else we can make it in a pressure cooker.
- Maida used in this recipe is used to coat the cake pan and make it non-sticky.
- The curd that we are using should not be sour or else it may ruin our recipe.

Chocolate Suji Cake without eggs is one of the versatile cake recipes which can be made with fewer ingredients and at home.
Ingredients
- Semolina Rava – 1 cup
- Sugar – ½ cup
- Curd – ½ cup
- Oil – 100 ml.
- Cocoa powder – 3 tbsp.
- Milk – ½ cup
- Baking powder – 1 tbsp.
- Salt – ¼ tbsp.
- Ghee – 1 tbsp.
- Maida – 1 tbsp.
Instructions
- To absorb milk, curd and oil, semolina needs to be soft, if your rava is grainy put it in a mixer grinder and make soft powder.
- Put rava in a mixing bowl, add oil, curd, sugar, cocoa powder and milk.
- Mix all ingredients using a blender and keep aside so that rava absorbs milk and rises.
- Add baking powder and salt. Mix well, let the concentration of batter remain soft to mild thickness.
- Grease the cake pan with ghee and sprinkle maida powder to get a thin coat.
- Pour batter in the pan and gently tap the pan so that if there are any air bubbles they come out.
- Let’s prepare a baking vessel. Heat sand in a vessel and place a lid over it so that we get optimum baking temperature.
- Open the lid and put the cake pan in the vessel and bake for 30-40 minutes. When cake is baked, one can smell a nice aroma.
- To check the baking status, pierce the cake with a toothpick, if the batter sticks then the cake needs to be baked or else it’s ready.
- Before flipping the cake, if the cake sticks to the walls of the pan, separate with a knife.
- Flip and gently tap on the vessel so that chocolate suji cake without eggs comes out.

How to make chocolate suji cake without eggs:
1. Add semolina rava to a mixer grinder and grind to soft powder.
2. Put sugar, curd, oil and cocoa powder in rava powder.
3. Add milk and blend to mix. Pour this mix in a mixing bowl and keep it aside for a while so that rava soaks.
4. Let the thickness of the batter have loose to mild thickness. Add baking powder and salt. Mix well.
5. Put ghee in a cake pan and grease it with your hand. Sprinkle maida powder over ghee and give a thin coating of it. Pour cake batter into the pan.
6. Place the cake pan in the preheated sand vessel and bake for 30-40 minutes. When we smell a nice aroma, open the lid and pierce the chocolate cake with a toothpick. If it sticks then it needs to bake for some more time or else the cake is ready.
7. With the help of a knife, separate the walls of the cake and vessel.
8. Flip the pan and gently tap over it so that cake comes out freely.
9. Slice chocolate suji cake without eggs and without microwave into pieces.
