Ingredients
- Sand/salt – required to spread in a vessel.
- Sugar – 1 cup
- Eggs – 3 No.
- Vegetable Oil – ½ cup
- Maida/ all purpose flour – 1 cup
- Eating Soda/ baking soda – ½ tbsp.
- Baking powder – 1 tbsp.
- Salt – a pinch
- Cocoa powder – 1 ½ tbsp.
- Milk – ¼ cup
- Vanilla essence – 1 tbsp.
- Ghee – 2 tbsp.
- Almonds – 2 tbsp. finely sliced
Instructions
- If we are making use of a pressure cooker, there is no need to prepare. If we use an aluminium vessel then put sand in it and spread.
- To get baking temperature, place a lid and leave it for some time at a high temperature.
- Meanwhile, let’s start with making sugar powder and put it in a mixing bowl.
- Put oil and mix. Add eggs and beat further till we get a soft texture.
- Add maida in small batches and mix so that it becomes easy to mix.
- As we are not using any microwave oven, it is necessary to put baking powder, soda and salt.
- If you have chocolate essences then go ahead or else add vanilla essence and mix.
- Now our batter is ready, let’s prepare the cake pancake by greasing it and coat it with maida flour.
- Add the batter in the pan and tap to remove bubbles and top with dry fruits.
- Put the cake pan in the baking vessel and bake for 30-40 minutes with the lid covered. If using a pressure cooker do not put weight.
- Usually, when the cake is baked, one can smell an exotic aroma, open the lid and pierce the chocolate cake Recipe with a knife or toothpick.

1. First let’s prepare baking vessel as it takes time to heat. In a large vessel, add sand and spread over it. Place a burner or any vessel so that we can put a cake pan on it.
2. Place a lid over it and heat sand on a high flame while we prepare the cake batter.
3. Let’s start with preparing sugar powder. In a mixer grinder add sugar and crush to a soft powder.
4. Take a mixing bowl to add oil and sugar powder. Mix to get sugar paste.
5. Break eggs and mix to get a soft mixture.
6. Add maida in small batches and mix well to get soft texture batter.
7. Put baking powder, baking soda and a pinch of salt as rising ingredients.
8. Although we are making chocolate cake adding flavoring ingredients elevates its aroma and taste. As I do not have chocolate essence, I am making use of vanilla essence. Mix well.
9. Grease cake pan either with oil or with ghee and spread a thin coat of maida over the grease.
10. Pour chocolate batter into the pan and tap the pan to remove bubbles created while pouring the batter.
11. Top batter with desired dry fruits, I have used only almonds to give nutty flavor.
12. Gently put the cake pan in the baking vessel and close the lid. Bake for 30-40 minutes.

14. Using the knife separate walls of the cake and vessel if needed and place a plate and flip to the other side. If it’s well baked then it falls immediately if not pat over the pan and remove the lid.
