Ingredients
- Kandi Pappu/ Red gram – ½ cup
- Chana dal – ¼ cup
- Moong dal – ¼ cup
- Jeera/ cumin seeds – 1 tbsp.
- Dry red chillies – 12 No.
- Hing/ Asafetida – ½ tbsp.
- Salt – 1 tbsp.
Instructions
- Dry roast red gram dal in a pan on low flame till they turn golden brown and exhibit a nice aroma.
- Transfer to another plate to cool. Add chana dal and roast separately. Transfer to the same plate.
- Put moong dal and spices as they get roasted fast.
- Add Jeera, dry red chillies and asafetida. Let all spices get cooled.
- Put all spices in a mixer grinder and add salt to it. Make mild coarse or soft powder.
- Andhra Kandi Podi Recipe | Poruppu Podi tastes great when accompanied with hot rice and ghee.

How to make Andhra Kandi Podi Recipe:
1. In a kadai, add ½ cup red gram dal and dry roast for a while on low flame. Transfer to another plate and let them cool.
2. Add ¼ cup chana dal in the same kadai and dry roast on low flame and transfer to above red gram dal to cool.
3. Put moong dal, jeera, dry red chillies and asafetida. Roast for a while and transfer to above dals and let them cool.
4. Once cooled, transfer all spices in a mixer grinder and make soft powder by adding 1 tbsp. salt.
5. Store Andhra Kandi Podi Recipe in a dry and air-tight container.
